Man arrested for yelling at Hispanic woman who is also a Muslim

A township man turned himself in to police five days after he allegedly shouted racial slurs at a Hispanic Muslim woman while he sat in traffic on a busy roadway, authorities said.

David Liscio, 32, was arrested on charges of harassment, making terroristic threats and bias intimidation when he turned himself in at around 2 p.m. Thursday, said police and the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office. He was released shortly after.

Liscio was driving his black pickup truck on Main Street and began yelling derogatory names targeted at the victim's gender and ethnicity, Officer John Moncato said.
