Under Pressure?

Last Saturday night, Pennsylvania's Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell and Rep. Joe Sestak attended a sold-out banquet with 500 other attendees hosted by their state's chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-PA).

In a release, CAIR-PA praised the lawmakers for attending. However, the language used might not have been what Rendell and Sestak were hoping for. In the release they are lauded for "refusing to back out of speaking at the dinner after facing rhetorical attacks from Islamophobic Internet bloggers."

CAIR has a rough relationship with some online conservative critics, such as the folks over at Powerline. But could the pressure of conservative bloggers really be putting that much heat on two prominent Democratic politicians?

Captain Jack, I have returned the kindness and added you to the top, near top, of the blogs I read. You have good info to contribute regarding CAIR and its ventures into intimidation. Keep up the good work.
